How it started...
Hey, I’m Elmaz — founder and chef of Peas & Love.
I’m a London-born Turkish Cypriot, and in my culture, food is our love language! We cook it in bulk, often meze style, we share it, indulge in it and always gather around it.
From a young age, I saw the steady rise of hummus across the UK. What was once a humble staple piece in my kitchen is now a household favourite for many!
My mum’s hummus has always stood out and is still the best I’ve ever had! Unapologetically zesty, well spiced and full bodied flavour. When I realised her recipe could turn hummus haters into hummus lovers (true story, see testaments) I knew I had something special! That’s when Peas & Love was born.
It all began with mums Classic hummus and has since grown into a colourful range of hummus flavours and a variety of dips.
Additionally, I’ve always been a health conscious eater, guided by nutrition and sustainability. So, building Peas & Love around organic ingredients and eco-friendly packaging was a natural step.
These values are non-negotiable, just like one of our core traditions like using Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a key ingredient that will NEVER be substituted with seed oils!
